All these paintings emerged from impressions over time of Piazza delx`la Repubblica in Cortona, Italy. They evoke the experience of the Piazza through multiple overlays of memories of being there. As Proust has described in his novel, Searching for Lost Time, every memory is in fact a collection of impressions gathered over time. These paintings grew from that idea and explore its possibility.
