All of the artwork recalls the natural environment. Four leaves from indigenous trees are represented in tiles which, in turn, have been integrated with the masonry pattern of the school. The maple, oak, tulip and beech leaves become themes for the four classroom wings, giving each a unique identity which the children can remember. Glazed tiles create trees where the landscape rises, setting the school into the earth. Aluminum garland of specific leaves animate each classroom on the exterior resonant with the theme of the interior.
